Reuel (Ex 2:18) was the father-in-law of Moses more commonly known as Jethro (Ex 3:1).
Reuel is the given name. Jethro would be the title... as far as I can understand: Here's further explanation from: http://www.christiananswers.net/dictionary/reuel.html Jethro meaning "excellency" pertains to Reuel's office.
The shepherds were from the tribe of Midian, and Jethro's daughters were being harassed by them at a well when Moses intervened and saved them. Jethro, also known as Reuel, was a priest of Midian and father-in-law to Moses.
Most likely no. Her father was a priest of Midian, it didn't say they were Midianites. Her father's names give us a hint on their ancestry. The name, Jethro means "His Excellency," and is a title. His other name is Reuel....there is another man named Reuel in the Bible. Esau married a woman named Basemath, she was the daughter of Ishmael and a Hittite lady. We know this as she is mentioned in Gen. 26:34, "...and Basemath, the daughter of Elon the Hittite.." Elon is most likely Basemath's mother's father. In Gen.36:3, she is mentioned again as the daughter of Ishmael, in the next verse, we learn Esau and Basemath had a son, Reuel....by Zipporah's father being called Reuel, this gives us a hint, her family is most likely the descendants of Esau and Basemath. There is a slim chance they are descendants of Midian, son of Abraham and his third wife, Keturah. If they are descendants of Esau and Basemath, this makes sense why Zipporah is not mentioned in the genealogies in Gen.6, or why her sons were not given important positions, as they were part Egyptian, part Hebrew, and part Hittite. Zipporah's father's real name was Hobab, (Judges 4: 11) and his son was named after him (Numbers 10:29), of course, the confusion of Zipporah's father and brother means that Heber descended from Hobab, the son of Reuel/Jethro/Hobab, therefore are descendants of Moses' father-in-law. If this is true of them descending from Esau, Zipporah and Moses' sons would have Levite or Hebrew blood as well as foreign Egyptian and Hittite blood. Very amazing-Moses was a Prince of Egypt, adopted son of Pharaoh's daughter, his wife, Zipporah may have Egyptian roots and his sons may also have Egyptians roots as well. However, this explains why they were not given important positions in the Levite tribe and why Zipporah is not mentioned in the Genelogies in Ex.6.
The name Reuel is of Hebrew origin and means "friend of God" or "God is my friend." It is also associated with wisdom and divine guidance.
According to the Bible, Moses fled from Egypt to Midian after killing an Egyptian taskmaster. The distance between Egypt and Midian is estimated to be around 200-250 miles, depending on the specific route taken. Assuming an average walking speed of 20-25 miles per day, it would have taken Moses approximately 8-12 days to walk from Egypt to Midian.

Not exactly. Reuel (also called Jethro) was a Midianite. Today some people believe Midian was in Northwest Arabia. The Torah states that Abraham had a son named Midian, but it is not known if there is a connection.
The spiritual leader of the Midianites.Midian is the son of Abraham (Gen. 25:1-2)It reads, "Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. And she him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah." (Gen. 25:1-2) And the sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah,..." (Gen.25:4)Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well. (Ex. 2:15)Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock. (Ex. 2:16)His name is Reuel. "And when they came to Reuel their father..." (Ex. 2:18)Moses married the Priest of Midian's daughter Zipporah."And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter. And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom:..." (Ex. 2:21-22)"Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian:..." (Ex. 3:1)

He was called Reuel in Exodus 2; called Jethro in Exodus 18; called Hobab in Judges 4.Answer:Jethro (Yitro in Hebrew). He had seven names (or nicknames), some of which are listed in the above answer: Reuel, Yetter, Yitro, Hovav, Hever, Keini, and Putiel.
midian..with priest jethro
In Midian Moses met Reuel's seven daughters and helped them draw water for their father's large flock. On returning home the young women delightedly explained to Reuel that "a certain Egyptian" had delivered them from the shepherds causing them trouble. At Reuel's invitation, Moses resided with the family.
Seven (Exodus ch.2).
Moses married a daughter of Yitro, who was a priest in Midian.
According to the Bible, after Moses killed an Egyptian and fled Egypt, he went to the land of Midian and settled there. He hid himself among the people of Midian and eventually married the daughter of a Midianite priest.
Midian is believed to have been located in modern-day Saudi Arabia, and the people of Midian likely spoke a Northwest Semitic language. It is likely that Jethro, who is mentioned in the Bible as a priest of Midian and the father-in-law of Moses, would have spoken a dialect or variation of this language.
Zipporah was a Midianite, the daughter of Jethro, who was a priest of Midian. She is known for being the wife of Moses in the Bible.
