They were both great men and followers of Jesus. Mainstream Christianity sees Peter as the Rock of the church. But it was Paul who wrote most of the New Testament and brought the Faith out of Jerusalem and into the world, planting dozens of churches all the way to Rome. His contributions were so overwhelming that some historians practically consider him as the founder of Christianity.
