Arba is mentioned in Joshua 14:15; 15:13; and 21:11. He is said to be the father of Anak and the greatest man among the Anakim---a race of people known for the extraordinary height (see Deuteronomy 2).

However, The Bible does not reveal the name of Arba's father. But it does tell us that Arba had a city named for him (Kirjath Arba, "the city of Arba"), which later became known as Hebron.
