Harmachis is the name of Horus when he was first born - as a brother of Osiris, Isis, Nephthys, and Set. Later on, Horus is also described as the son of Osiris and Isis. Since it is confusing to have one god who was born twice, and is seemingly his own uncle, it became customary to call the first incarnation of Horus "Harmachis" and the second one "Horus."

Harmachis was an alternate name for the Egyptian god Horus, particularly in his form as Horus of the Horizon. This aspect symbolized the rising sun and represents rebirth and renewal. Harmachis also references the Sphinx, as it sometimes bore the title "Harmachis in the Horizon."

Who are some of the gods in ancient Egypt?

As you didn't specify, I am prepared to compile quite an extensive list. Ra: god of the sun Isis: goddess of magic and protector of children Osiris: god of the Underworld Horus: falcon-headed god of war Set: god of destruction Nephthys: goddess of water Thoth: god of wisdom and ibises Sobek: god of crocodiles Serqet: scorpion goddess Anubis: jackal-headed god of mummification Hapi: river god, protector of the Nile Apophis: god of chaos (not to be confused with Set, who was much weaker) Bes: dwarf god Tawaret: goddess of childbirth Babi: god of baboons Sekhmet: warrior goddess and goddess of healing in parts of Egypt Hathor: the cow goddess, goddess of joy, love and music Bast: goddess of cats Harmachis: another form of Horus, with the head of a hawk (hmm...) Khnum: god of rams Ma'at: not technically a deity, more of a force of good Isfet: like Ma'at, only its evil counterpart Khepri: god of beetles, a form of Ra Ptah: god of creation Tefnut: goddess of moisture (not so sure why you'd need one but whatever) Shu: god of the wind Seshat: goddess of writing and measurement Nun: god of the waters of chaos and the chaos on the edge of the universe Sokar: god of the dead in Memphis, also had a falcon head Anuket: same as Hapi Aten: god of the sun, also the disc on Ra's head in pictures Heket: goddess of frogs Khonsu: god of the moon Mafdet: god of justice Nekhbet: goddess of vultures Now, if this is for homework, I apologize for the information overload. Hope this helped some.

Can you love God without knowing Him?

God cannot be known. God has to be realized and we can love God when we start our journey with God. It starts with believing in God, having faith in God, then having hope, trust and living with enthusiasm. When we realize God is everywhere, when we see God in a little flower, in a singing bird, when we see God in you and me, then we don't have to know God because God is in everything, God is everywhere. God cannot be defined, God cannot be known, we cannot find God, we have to realize God and the way to realize God is to love God, is to yearn for God more than you yearn for your beloved, for gold, for anything and anybody. When we yearn for God, then we realize God, we will become one with God.

How does God create himself in God is a master craftsman?

If you believe in a God you must believe that God was always there. God wasn't created. God always was. God will be and always has been. there was never a time before God or will there be after God. That is the meaning of the omnipresent (always present) God.
