Death definition: The ceasing of all functions of life. After breathing, heartbeat, and brain activity stop, the life-force gradually ceases to function in the body cells. Death is opposite of life.

Here is what The Bible has to say about what death is: According to John 11: 11,14 which shows that Jesus considered death as someone who is sleeping. We all know that when people fall asleep they will wake up, and that is what Jesus wants us to know.

John 11: 25 shows Jesus' confirmation of his power to wake up the dead, in these words. " I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercise faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life."

So death should not provoke any fear, but the fact that the dead is asleep and could be waken up is quite reassuring.

When Adam and Eve received their sanction for not sticking to God's requirements, here is what God said to them in Genesis 3: 19. " in the sweat of your forehead you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you return. By the way the root of the word 'HUMAN' is dust.

According to Revelation 21: 4 death will be no more . In the mean time humans' condition is written in Psalm 90: 10 in these words. "The span of our life is 70 years or 80 if one is especially strong. But they are filled with trouble and sorrow; then quickly pass by, and away we fly.

Romans 5: 12 shows us why we die , in these words. " That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and also death spread to all men because they had sinned. ( The meaning of the word sin is. ( miss the goal ) The goal that mankind has missed is the possibility to live forever for the moment.

Ecclesiastes 9: 10 reminds us that there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the grave , where you are going.

Here is what Psalm 37: 29 has to say concerning our future. " The righteous will possess the earth and they will live forever on it" And Psalm 37: 3 reads. "Trust in Jehovah and do what is good" Which was what was required from Adam and Eve, but they chose to follow the voice that promised them that they will be like God. Well ! that did not happen , did it? Read Genesis chapter 3 which is mankind's history.
