Matthew 26:54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not ... No man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father." John 6:64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. Opinion; God use Judas to sacrifice Jesus.

Jesus chose Thaddeus as one of his disciples to spread his teachings and acts of love to others. Thaddeus was known for his faithfulness and commitment to Jesus's mission, making him a valuable disciple in sharing the message of Christianity.

It is not known why Thaddeaus was chosen. This is a correct Biblical exegesis, but my opinion is because his surname Lebbaeus or Thaddeaus meant: man of heart or man of courage. His given name was Judas, or Jude, which were shortened versions of Judah-to be praised. Judas Iscariot was the traitor of CHRIST, so the use of Thaddeaus was two fold: 1. The ill-repute that Judas Iscariot brought upon the name, and 2. To avoid confusion. Lebbaeus was a Zealot and the brother of two others Disciples: James, the Lesser or son of Alphaeus, and Levi or Matthew-the Author of the first Gospel, whom were both publican, hated tax collectors for Rome. Zealots were a radical group whom supported the usurpation of the Roman government for the Kingdom of GOD and known for their often uncontrolled and destructive passion for GOD. Zealots were ranked just a bit higher in lack of esteem by the religious hierarchy of the Pharisees and Sadducees, thereby condescended and hated by them. CHRIST chose these men, as well as the other Disciples from other common walks of life, to prove that HE can change anyone, but especially those who believe in HIM. Since Thaddeaus already had a fervent passion for GOD, CHRIST tempered him with HIS Love and Thaddeaus authored the short 25 Verses, but Power Inspired Epistle of Jude. Jude was martyred for the Cause of CHRIST in Beirut, Lebanon in 65 AD.

Jesus would have foreknown the choices that Judas would later make. However, He also knew this was part of the process to redeem mankind and went ahead, regardless, for the benefit of and out of agape and compassion for man.

Jesus knew that everything was going to happen the way it did. Even though he didnt want it to happen, it still happened. That is why Jesus didnt say anything to him whenever he had to leave early from the Last Supper, and whenever he came up to kiss him, he didnt say anything. Jesus also showed no sign of struggle whenever they took him away. Jesus knew this had to happen in order to save us from our sins. Jesus knew that this was Gods will to be done and that his sacrifice would give us a chance to get saved and have an everlasting life in heaven.

You are referring to apostle #l3, the bad guy, Judas Iscariot. we do not know why. Obviously Christ can and does read minds. Judas iscariot ( who commited suicide) should not be confused with St. Jude Thaddeus, the miracle worker . St. Jude is called in for Impossible cases, so to speak. He"s a good guy. There are two different Judes which is not surprising as the word means Jew, or of Jewish descent- like Judah Ben-Hur of the famous novel. _____ There is strong evidence now that Judas did not "betray" Jesus; he believed that turning him in would shortcut Jesus to the Jewish and Roman authorities, to deal directly with them about the problems in Israel. (He and Jesus may have even worked this out beforehand, privately.) Judas didn't expect Jesus to wind up on the cross, or for himself to be "double-crossed" by the Sanhedrin. The rest is 2000 years of misunderstanding and badmouthing. (The other Judas - later Jude - among the group was a brother of Jesus, as was James.)

There is some evidence he was a tax collector, or I.R.S. agent- like St. Matthew was. remember the line about the Love of Money being the root of all evil! It is interesting not One of the Twelve was a true police officer or related job- Matthew caim the closest with Tax collector status.

The Bible doesn't say the reason that Jesus chose Matthew to be a disciple. Matthew's job before he started following Jesus was that of a tax collector.
