I had personal experience on this one. I was never raised around animals before but somewhere I was waiting on someone at a farm & they had a goat, and it was trapped in barb wire with it's head stuck out. I grabbed it, I can't remember how, and tried to free it, but it simply refused to budge, it did not want to free itself or else it could not understand, but I eventually had to leave it. But I thought about The Bible then too. Owners of goats know that they are prone to have a mind of their own, as above. From a human perspective, up close we might say they look sneaky. Sheep are prone to stray but are not so stubborn and need protection, possibly giving rise to the need for shepherds in the spiritual realm, just as they do in the physical realm.

Jesus was not intending to discriminate against goats, which can be lovely creatures, but simply to make a point with which his listeners would be very familiar since both were common animals at that time. Jesus, being the master teacher knew his listeners would understand the subtle differences, and the not so subtle.

What are the differences between a baptism and an aqiqah ceromony?

A baptism is a Christian ritual that involves immersing a person in water to symbolize purification and admission into the Christian faith, typically done in infancy or adulthood. Aqiqah is an Islamic tradition where a sheep or goat is sacrificed to celebrate the birth of a child, with the meat distributed to family, friends, and the less fortunate. The primary differences lie in their religious significance and practices, with baptism being a sacrament in Christianity and aqiqah being a cultural tradition in Islam.

What are the animals of the seven heavenly virtues?

The animals associated with the seven heavenly virtues are typically represented symbolically rather than as literal animals. For example, the lion is often associated with courage, the dove with peace, the lamb with kindness, the deer with temperance, the peacock with pride (as a positive attribute), the bee with diligence, and the unicorn with purity. These symbolic associations have been used in art, literature, and religious teachings to convey the virtues they represent.

Why is a goat a sign of Satan?

The goat that is being referred to is found on the Satanic symbol, called the Sigil of Baphomet. This is an inverted pentagram, the center of the star filled with the head of a goat. Early founders of the Christian doctrine sought to eradicate the ancient pagan religions that the people of the time believed. These early pagans had a deity named Pan, a God of nature, the forest, and it's creatures. Pan's physical form was part goat. The church founders demonnized the pagan beliefs and gods and goddesses. Pan, being a major deity, found himself being transformed from a god to a devil in the eyes of the new monotheistic religion.

What does blood convenant mean in the New Testament?

A covenant is also called a testament. The covenant that God made with Abraham in Genesis is now considered the old covenant and it was put into force with blood.Among the Old Testament sacrifices were animal sacrifices in which an animal was slain (blood Sacrifice). When God made the covenant with Abraham, God had Abraham gather up a heifer, a goat, a ram, a turtledove, a pigeon. The animals were then all cut in two and that night a deep sleep fell upon Abraham and the presence of God walked between the pieces. A blood covenant had occurred. In the New Testament Jesus Christ came to save sinners and to usher in the New Covenant. Jesus was the Testator of the New Covenant. We are told that as long as the testator is still alive the covenant (testament) is not in affect. Animal sacrifices could never take away the sin of the world, only the blood of Jesus could do that. When Jesus died on the cross (Shed his Blood) the new covenant (Testament) became active. The death of Jesus the Christ was a blood Covenant. Praise God that on the third day Jesus resurrected from the dead and is now in heaven making intercession for those who love Him. Soon he will return to take His own to heaven.Additional Comment:Hebrews 9:18-23New King James Version (NKJV) 18 Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood. 19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, 20saying, "This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you."[a]21 Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. 22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.Greatness of Christ's Sacrifice23 Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. Footnotes:Hebrews 9:20 Exodus 24:8

Why are children called kids?

The term "kids" to refer to children likely originated from the word "kid" meaning "young goat." This comparison is likely due to children's playful and energetic nature, similar to that of baby goats. Over time, the term "kids" has become widely accepted and used colloquially to refer to children.
