Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn, but because he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; so that he is not enrolled in the genealogy according to the birthright. King James Bible
Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright. American King James Version
Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but for as much as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright. American Standard Version
And the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel (for he was the first-born; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's couch, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
Ruben lost his birthright as the firstborn son because he defiled his father's bed by sleeping with one of his father's concubines, which was considered a serious offense in their cultural and religious beliefs. This act was seen as dishonorable and disrespectful, leading to the loss of his right to inherit the privileges that typically came with being the eldest son.
A birthright barterer is someone who trades or exchanges items, services, or resources as a way of upholding their inherited right or privilege in a society or community. This could include negotiating deals based on their status, lineage, or inherent entitlement.
In the Bible, Ruben was not specifically mentioned as being related to Saul. Rather, Ruben was one of the twelve sons of Jacob and the ancestor of the tribe of Reuben. Saul was from the tribe of Benjamin.
Esau "sold" Jacob his rights to his birthright. Since Esau was the older brother, he was entitled to 2/3 of what his father left behind when he died. What he received in return was some of the soup Jacob was preparing.
In the Bible, God did not hate Esau. God's relationship with Esau was complex and ultimately came down to the choices Esau made in his life, particularly in selling his birthright. God's actions towards Esau were a response to his behavior rather than hatred.
Esau desired to kill Jacob because he was angry that Jacob had tricked him into giving up his birthright and receiving the blessing from their father, Isaac. Esau felt betrayed and sought revenge against his brother.
Overlaid monsters are no longer considered to be monsters on the field. Any counters on them will be removed, any Equip cards that were equipping them will lose their target and go to the graveyard. As the monster Birthright had brought back, has now technically gone from the field, Birthright will be destroyed as per its own effect.
