There are many reasons why people believe in a religion or a god, including:
Evolutionary adaptations
Some say that as humans evolved from hunter-gatherer tribes into agrarian cultures, religion was a cultural adaptation to encourage cooperation and tolerance among strangers. Others say that evolution created a "god-shaped hole" or a "god engine" that drives people to believe in a deity.
Communicating with God
Some people believe because they believe they communicate with God and see evidence of God's involvement in the world.
Ritual behavior
Singing, dancing, and achieving trance-like states can alter brain chemistry.
Societal factors
Religious belief may be influenced by educational and household norms, and by societal factors like social isolation, facing death, or uncontrollable situations. For example, a 2018 Pew Research Center study found that 68% of people with some college education and 75% of people with a high school education or less say they have been rewarded by God, compared to 54% of college graduates.
Mental health benefits
Religion can help people cope with stressful events, and can provide structure, a sense of belonging, and encouragement for forgiveness, compassion, and gratitude.
Some people believe that if they don't follow a certain religion they will be punished in the afterlife for instance some people are catholic they believe in one god and no other god. Where as other people believe there is more than one god when we don't know how many gods there are but people believe for a reason.
People who do not believe in any god are called Atheists.
Jesus (God) is not a religion. religion is a worldly name and it is used to hold people and Christians to captivity through laws, processes and programs. Believing in God is a relationship not a religion.
They believe many different things; what they believe will depend on the specific religion.A religion is usually about having some kind of supernatural belief, in things for which there is no good evidence, or insufficient evidence - for example, most religions believe in a god, or gods. Some religions don't believe in a god, but do believe in other supernatural things.
If you are convinced there is no God, and all religions are wrong you are Athiest. If you believe all religions could be right, but don't neccessarily follow any one you are Pantheist. If you are not sure if there is a God, or don't know which religion believe you are Agnostic. If you simply can't be bothered to think about religion you are Non-theist.If you have been touched by His noodley appendage, you are a Pastafarian.
The people that believe in Juche believe in their eternal president Kim Il-sung and they believe he is their "god".
Yes, muslim's(people who follow the religion of Islam) believe in God.
Christianity, the religion where people believe that God is Almighty and Jesus was the son of God.
Atheist if they don't believe in God. Agnostic if they follow no particular religion but DO believe in a higher presence.
It depends on what people believe in from their religion.
