According to Colossians 1: 15 Jesus is identified as " The firstborn of all creation". And Jesus pointed to God as the Source of his life. Jesus also spoke of his prehuman heavenly life. Read John 3: 13; 6: 38, 62; 1: 1-3.

Jesus had his share in the creation work done on earth. and as a spirit creature his life began thousands of millions of years prior to the creation of the first human. Read Micah 5: 2 in these words. " Whose origin is from ancient times, from days of long ago".

When we read in The Bible Genesis 1: 26 " Then God said: Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, some people wonder who is God talking to. Well! He was talking to his Son Jesus.

The person who became known as Jesus Christ did not begin life here on earth. Read Revelation 3: 14 shows that Jesus witnessed the beginning of the creation of God.

So to answer your question of " why was Jesus chosen to be the Son of God" It is because he knows His Father better than any other creation and is the perfect expression of Jehovah's wisdom who can personify His Father and is able to speak in His name. Read Proverbs 8: 22-36.

John 1: 14.reads " So the word became flesh and resided among us, and we had a view of his glory, a glory such as belongs to an only-begotten son from a father; and he was full of divine favour and truth."

Jesus was born man. Jesus is God's human form. He sent Jesus to Earth because He wanted to get people to believe in Him. After all God did create all human kind and every living creature/thing.

Consider that each of us is a thought of God. Consider that Son of Man, means, that the birth of Jesus, as a man, was the product, or son, of mankind's cumulative love for humanity, thus being the Son of Man and at the same time, Son of God. This is just my thought… I don't claim to be right.

Jesus was not "chosen" to be the Son of God. Jesus is God the Son, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, which existed for all eternity. Jesus was begotten by God the Father before time existed, and so Jesus is eternal (as opposed to everlasting, like created man). Jesus was God before His incarnation to become Man. Jesus is the only Person who has a true God nature and true Human nature. He is fully God and fully Man. He therefore has two wills, a Divine Will and Human Will.

In some Gospels Jesus does not directly say that he is the Messiah or the Son of God. 'The Son of Man' is humbler and more obviously truthful.

This phrase originates in Mark's Gospel, where Jesus referred to himself as the Son of Man and Peter called him the Christ ('anointed one'). To have called Jesus the Son of God might have been considered blasphemous when Mark was written, but the demons and the centurion, as outsiders, could call do so because their statements would not bring the Christian community into disrepute.

Perhaps fifteen years later, Matthew's Gospel could use the term Son of God quite freely and sarcasm was no longer necessary in the centurion's statement when Jesus died.
