Some do - some don't. Species such as the pythons and boas need to actively hunt for their food. However - species such as the rattlesnake, simply locate themselves by a trail used by rodents and 'ambush' a rat when it walks past.

Many animals eat snakes, including coyotes, Birds of Prey, and of course the famous mongoose. This answer is not right. People hunt this animal because of their skin. Other people hunt snakes (cobras) in china and Japan for their meat so the Chinese people have cobra soup.

I would classify hyenas as being more opportunist than hunter, as they are the best in the art of tribal scavenging. They are bullies and pro's at intimidating an animal who's distracted by chowing down on a fresh kill. Hyenas can be pests until the feasting animals give up and let the hyenas have the kill.

When they're in pack mode, they think nothing of the danger of taking a lion or lionesses meal, they think only of the meal.

When it comes to hunting they are not the most aggressive hunters, but because of their scavenging practices they will probably never go hungry.
