Every day. Make sure you clean out their water bowls or tubs or whatever you have the bearded dragons water in.
no, they often fight over territory
You should feed your beardie every day a mixture of protein (Crickets and stuff like that) and veggies. The rule of thumb is feed your beardie as much protein as he/she will eat in a 15 minute span. As for the veggies you can leave those in all day.
Our Dragon is 6 years old and only occasionally eats crickets and/or mealworms. She'll eat about 18-24 crickets in a serving once a week. However, she enjoys stringbeans, mixed green salad (not iceberg lettuce or spinach since both are not good for a dragon), grapes, and strawberry (cut up). If you're giving your Dragon these foods, you don't really need the live food all that often when they're mature.
When a bearded dragon waves, it is a behavior that is often interpreted as a sign of submission or a way to communicate with other bearded dragons. It can also be a way for them to show recognition or acknowledgment towards their owner.
bearded dragons hide from you if you do not handle them alot if you want it to stop hiding try taming it by hand feeding it and holding it more often
The bearded dragon known for its orange stripes is typically the "Hypo Orange" or "Citrus" bearded dragon. These morphs exhibit vibrant orange coloration, often with striking stripes or patterns along their bodies. Selective breeding has enhanced these color traits, making them popular among reptile enthusiasts.
As a baby their diet should be 70% live food 30% fruits and veggies. As an adult it switches to the opposite. The prefer veggies to fruit, and mostly greens. Always leave meal worms and veggies out so they have a choice and feed them crickets 2x daily. All food should be no bigger than the space between their eyes.
I have a lovely healthy Beardie of my own so my advice is for an adult bearded dragon.... EVERY OTHER morning give him/her 4-5 locusts or crickets. On the mornings you aren't giving it live food, give it either vegetables dusted with a calcium supplement or special formulated Bearded Dragon pellets that provide a nutritional diet. No, Bearded Dragons themselves do not smell bad. Bearded Dragon feaces do smell however and that's why they need to be removed from the tank straight away. Depending what your Bearded Dragon eats can also affect the feaces smell. For example cockroaches or woodies smell worse than when they eat crickets. It's not an over powering smell and it doesn't smell straight away, only if the feaces isn't removed and the tank is not regularly cleaned and sand replaced.
Bearded Dragons usually attain full size in 3-4 years. Obviously this depends on how much food they eat, and how often - as this will vary with each reptile.
A bearded dragon mostly eats crickets, worms, vegetables and dandelions. They also eat locusts.Other foods include vegetables such as collard greens, romaine lettuce, kale, mustard greens, and carrots. Adult lizards may also eat pinky mice.Bearded dragons eat grasshoppers and crickets whilst young, and as they become an adult they eat locusts and large mealworms along with the normal large crickets or large hoppers. They can also eat salads on the side but do NOT give them water lettuce as they don't like too much water. Also, do NOT feed them pinky mice or any kind of mouse. This could effect their diet.you can feed beardies............ locust, crickets, waxworms, pinkies, mealworms, superworms, dubia roaches and they also eat fruit and salad but you cant feed them iceberg letuce and spinach. This is not totally true as you can feed spinach to bearded dragons but only in small amounts and not often. Rubarb is the only known poisonous food for bearded dragons and iceburg lettuce has no nutritional value and will give them the runs and dehydrate them although it can be fed to them. Most people suggest other lettuces to iceburg and think they are alright to feed however they do the exact same thing and all lettuce has no nutritional value. Try feeding you dragon kale or bok choy as they have high calcium content and will be more benefitcial.
At any good pet stores their should be some bearded dragon food (both for juveniles and adults) that isn't live insects. this is great to insure your beardie has a well nourished & balanced diet. they also need to eat vegetables that are dusted with a calcium powder (babies dont tend to eat veg). also have some locusts handy, locusts are easier to keep than crickets, and dont make a noises at night. feed him/her the bearded dragon non live food and vegetables every other day, and on the other days, give him/her a few locusts. Sorces from: An Experienced Bearded Dragon Owner. They need a mixture of veggies, fruits and protein. There is a good nutrition chart on beautiful beardies.com
