Why would you want to deprive them of their natural diet! It's possible to raise then on an exclusively vegetarian diet BUT you will have to provide supplemental vitamins and minerals in order to replace the natural substances they would have obtained from the insects they would naturally feed on ! The moral of the story is - If you can't cope with feeding a reptile on their natural diet - you shouldn't be keeping them !
Bearded dragons are lizards, and, like dinosaurs, lizards are reptiles. However, no lizards, including bearded dragons, evolved from dinosaurs. Birds, on the other hand, evolved from small, feathered, insectivorous or meat eating dinosaurs that lived in trees.
No, they cannot survive without eating. All animals need to eat.
Yes bearded dragons can get stomach aches due to: Eating meal worms, meal worms have hard exoskeletons with very little meat and can make your bearded dragon constipated, Over feeding, or interacting with your bearded dragon less than 2 hrs after he/she has eaten, you have to allow your pet to bask for at least 2 hrs which allows them to properly digest their meal (also not to get pooped on ;)
Yes most likely. if you left worms or crikits in there it might of gone to eat them and missed and accidentaly ate sand. :( Or if it was laying on it's back when you found him he might of accidentaly buried himself in sand while struggling to turn over an swalloed some sand and suffocated:(
i dont know if it is normal for them to poo red after eating them the first time but if it happens a few times after then take it to a lizard vet
I can NOT under stand your English at all, if you meant something else. If you really meant what it looks like, than here's your answer- Bearded dragons eat to survive. like every other living thing on the planet, including you and me. DUH. If you were not looking for that answer, than retype it to look better. I cannot read that, try to read this: Howcome you bathing? Or, Why are cat is shedding? See?
no it cannot.
no lol.
A red-eared slider turtle can survive without eating for about 2 to 3 months, depending on its health and environment.
As many as it will eat within about ten minutes. Bearded Dragons actively hunt their food - eating enough to 'fill them up' before resting. Simply feed a few at a time - until your Beardie stops eating - then just drop the same amount in the vivarium next time.
In a sense yes. Bearded dragons, like most reptiles help keep pest type animals down. In the Bearded's case it is primarily crickets and grubs. Since crickets, grasshoppers, grubs, ets. can cause problems with many types of farms, by the reptiles keeping these creature's population down, they indirectly keep farmers employed and eating.
It depends on the species of the weeds. A general rule of thumb is yes, they evolved in the wild and so will usually know what they can eat (if it occurs in nature/their natural habitat)
