Do California king snakes eat fish?

Kingsnakes are very oppurtunistic predators, however I cannot recall a case of them eating fish. They may, but in any case it's not the preferred meal.

From a biological perspective, California King snakes are very opportunistic feeders and eat a large variety of prey. They may take fish if more preferred prey were unavailable, but would likely choose warmer food first.

From a hobbyist perspective, I have never heard of anyone offering a pet King snake fish and have no personal experience with this particular issue.

Any pet shop owner that is selling a captive bred snake, that ethically they all should be, that tells you that the snake will not eat frozen mice, should not be allowed to sell reptiles as this is absolute nonsense. If of course you don't have a captive bred snake, and one that was taken directly from the wild, I suggest you think hard about the consequences of encouraging the sale of reptiles in this way.

We have a California king snake and it didnt eat the frozen mice so we sended it to someone who's snake does.The California King Snake does NOT eat frozen mice.If you have frozen mice,give it back to the pet shop or give it to another snake.The California king snake eats Live food.
