Turtles need proper antibiotics administered if they do end up with a URI. Signs of respiratory infection include mucus around the eyes, nose, or mouth, sometimes big noticeable bubbles coming from the nose, and in severe cases you will see them begin to stop eating. Turtles who wind up with URI and are not seen by a vet or treated could end up with long-term respiratory problems or even eventually death.
