Yes, pregnant snakes should be fed, but their dietary needs may change during pregnancy. It's important to provide them with appropriately sized prey and ensure they are not overfed. Monitoring their body condition is crucial, as they may require more food or adjustments in their feeding schedule as they approach the birthing period. Always consult a vet or a reptile care expert for specific guidance.

I had a hungry Ball Python and I dropped a mouse in with it and it wouldn't touch it. The next morning the mouse gave birth and my ball python still wouldn't go near it. Tonight I tried to feed my king snake a mouse and my snake ignored it, even after I trapped the mouse within inches from my snake. So I removed that one and dropped in another and my king snake ate it with no problems. I bet in the morning that mouse it wouldn't eat will be delivering baby's But on You-tube I saw a ball python eat what the feeder says was a pregnant mouse so idk.
Yes.

No, but you could feed it a rat.......
For the same reason YOU feed - to get energy in order to survive !
I think your friend is weird. Did she ask to feed the poor snake this food? Next time be more careful. Take the snake to the vet and get it checked out. Feed the snake insects next time. Oh, and friend- please be aware of what you feed little animals.
