No. Athena is her enemy. Medusa lived in Athens and was considered the prettiest. Every day, she would brag about her beauty. (annoying, right?) Anyway, she went to the Parthenon with her friends and bragged about how she could could have made a much better model, for the sculpture of the goddess Athena herself. She kept bragging on and on to her friends about how she would have made a better model than Athena for all of the paintings and sculptures in the Parthenon. Everyone in the temple heard her, and in fear that Athena might come to the Parthenon in rage, everyone left, leaving Medusa alone. Athena visited Medusa and told her, that it didn't matter about the outside, it was the inside that counted. She turned her into a hideous monster with snake hair and the power to turn people to stone with one gaze.

Perseus, in Greek mythology, had several key allies during his quest to slay Medusa. Notably, he received assistance from the gods Athena and Hermes; Athena provided him with a reflective shield to avoid Medusa's petrifying gaze, while Hermes gave him winged sandals for flight. Additionally, he was aided by the nymphs of the North, who provided him with the helmet of invisibility, a magical bag to contain Medusa's head, and a pair of bronze sickles to help in his battle. Together, these allies played crucial roles in Perseus's successful mission.
I'm not sure but she has a rivalry with Poseidon because she caught him with his girlfriend Medusa in her temple. And i don't think she liked Ares that much.
Poseidon was Medusa's boyfriend and they were hanging out in Athena's temple. Then Athena turned Medusa into Medusa.
Medusa had no children.
No, Rhea was not Medusa. Rhea was a Titan. Medusa was a Gorgon.
