Research shows about 2-3 feet long
The crocodile has a more tapered snout than the broader snout of the alligator.
A crocodile's head is more narrow and the snout comes to more of a point as compared to an alligator. An alligator's snout is blunt - more of a U-shape. I try to remember the difference by thinking that if the nose is pointed like a capital "A", then it is not an Alligator. It's a bit tough to remember since it is a negative. Another memory jog - though negative - would be if the snout is rounded (a capital "C" is rounded) it is not a Crocodile.
Basically an alligator has a longer snout than that of a crocodile. Oh, and BTW it's alligator :))

the average alligator has a larger snout than a crocodile
alligator
A crocodile's head is broader, and it has a thinner snout than an alligator's head. The alligator's head is also darker than the crocodile's. For more information, see the links below.
alligators live longer because they are larger and longer and has a larger part of everything than a crocodile
The Crocodile would most likely win due to the fact that crocodiles are generally more aggressive and on average they are larger then alligators so they have a size advantage
No, alligators typically have broader, U-shaped snouts, while crocodiles tend to have longer, V-shaped snouts. This difference in snout shape is one of the features that can help distinguish between alligators and crocodiles.
yes
Alligators, caimans and gharials are all relatives to crocodiles, and so they look very similar. There are also a few lizards that look a bit like crocodiles but are not related to them.
