If you've only had him for three days - there's a chance he's still finding his way around his new home ! Think how you'd feel if you'd suddenly been taken from your home to somewhere new.

Make sure he has water to drink - and keep offering him food. He'll take it when he's ready.

What kind of gecko should a first time gecko owner get?

Leopard geckos are great. They're cute, calm, cheap and durable. Just give them some water, and something to hide under, a heat source, and dump some crickets or mealworms in there every couple days and they can live to be 20 or 25!

How can you recover a lost leopard gecko?

recovering a lost gecko is very hard. I'm sorry to say it but if the you haven't found the gecko in 3 days it's probably dead. to prevent this use a lizard leash.

How many mealworms do you feed a gecko lizard in one day?

unlike fish, geckos will only eat as much as they need and not overeat. I usually give mine 10 mealworms and 1 waxworm in a night and sometimes find 1 or maybe 2 mealworms still in the food dish. Some nights I see nothing and sometimes I see a bowl full of worms. The mornings I wake up to a full bowl I know that my gecko probably looks like a car with a new paint job (yah it molted) As they get older they will eat less as they can store more fat and have a slower metabolism. (just like us, although we do tend to eat more) Good-Luck with your gecko

How long does it take for leopards gecko eggs take to hatch?

It can take 60-120 days for leopard gecko eggs to hatch depending on what conditions they are incubated in. The warmer the temperatures, the sooner the eggs should hatch.

What should you do if your gecko has not eaten for 5 days?

That depends on the species, age and overall health. For example, in a healthy adult leopard gecko, going five days without food would be no problem, but for a crested gecko needs to be fed every couple of days. Do some research on whatever species you have, but as a general rule, don't do it unless you know that it's okay.

Can leopard gecko eat veggies?

They do not eat vegetables directly. However, they will eat crickets and worms that have recently fed on vegetables, and thereby receive all of their necessary nutrients. A leopard gecko is an insectivore, strictly relying on insects of various sizes and shapes. The leopard gecko is native to the deserts of Afghanistan and not much vegetation is in the area. There are minimal trees and shallow shrubs that provide protection from hot days, but not much in the way of foods for these animals. They may nibble at a vegetable (some types of geckos have diets that include nectar and fruits) but it is not something that they would choose to eat.

How long does it take for a female leopard gecko to produce more eggs after she laid eggs?

Most hobbyists reffer to being pregnant as "egg bound" or "fertile" with crested geckos. A crested gecko will lay the eggs 30-45 days after copulation. After the eggs have been deposited, they will incubate 60-120 days depending on temperature.

What is unique about a leopard gecko?

The leopard gecko is equipped with multiple adaptations to ensure its survival in the desert. It's claws are great for digging through the sand. A leopard gecko will usually burrow to find a moist spot, but still keeping warm. The Leo has movable/ closable eyelids, this allows them to dig with ease. They are able to close their eyes while excavating soil/sand. Their tails are able to store fat. In-case an animal goes a couple extra days without feeding, they are able to survive off of their fat reserves in their tails.
