How can you see how old your snake is?

By the number of rattles on his tail and the size of the snake.

You can not tell how old a rattlesnake is by the number or size of the rattle, you actually need tissue and blood samples to tell how old they are. I have done a lot of research on this and have found a bunch of different ideas but the only real way to tell how old one is is to get tissue and blood samples, you can get pretty close by estimating most of the time.

well first you must go over to your snake. flip it onto its back so you can see its belly. the belly should resemble somewhat of piano keys. count how many black scales there are on it. divide that number by three, and add 1. that's its age.

It's hard to tell the age of a reptile but usually they'd go by size of the snake, which might not be correct because snake grow at different rates and it depends on how often the snake is fed. But roughly: A corn snake that is 12-18" long is probably 1-3 months old. A cornsnake that is 18-24" inches long is about 8-10 months. A cornsnake that is 2-3 feet is probably about 12-16 months. A cornsnake that is 4-5 feet is an adult, probably about 2 years old. A cornsnake that is longer than 5 feet is likely an adult male that is at least 3 years old.

There is no accurate way to determine exact age. A rattlesnake adds a new segment to its rattle each time it sheds its skin but may shed several times a year as it grows.
