How do you bond with a bearded dragon?

handle it (but very gently you don't want it to see you as a threat)

take it for walks (you can buy special bearded dragon leashes)

feed it from the hand (my cousin has a very strong relationship with his dragon and we both agree it's because he feeds him locusts and other things from the hand)

In the wild, Bearded Dragon's natural defense to predators is to sit there and do nothing. Considering the defense of their body structure and camouflage ish coloring, this is actually advantageous.

Therefore, it is relatively easy to bond with a bearded dragon. They recognize faces. And they are docile enough to pet and hold--especially if they recieved attention from a young age. They will begin to have a preference for an individual in their "family" and it has been proven that they recognize your face.

Give it attention like a dog, and hand feed it treats like a mouse or something else it enjoys. It will associate you with food, and begin to "like" you (for reptiles, its more like tolerate being fed).

Name it as well and use its name consistently. They hear well (look at those cute little ears) and therefore some people suggest the repeated consonants/sounds become associated with certain actions. They can also feel the tone/vibrations of voice.
