If you can't drain your pond and round them up, fish for them. Because snapping turtles eat about anything, they can be caught on a hook and heavy line using catfish bait. Chicken livers or gizzards or some cut up fish will work. Tie the line to a jug or heavy float and run another line to shore so they can be reeled in. Ask if anyone locally has fished for them for more tips. And, most importantly, find out if anyone wants them to eat. If you're going to the trouble of catching them, why not go all the way and put them to use? There are some folks who will run over you to get their paws on turtle meat. Good luck.
