What is a good way to explain to your parents that you really want a leopard gecko and they won't let you have one?

You probably have to examine the specific reasons why they don't want you to have one. Perhaps they believe that you will not take good care of it, and it will just die. You could assure them that you are prepared to be a conscientious pet owner. Perhaps the leopard gecko is too expensive. What are you prepared to contribute toward the cost? Maybe you have never owned a pet before and should start with something less exotic, to gradually work your way up to an exotic pet. Maybe your parents have a neurotic fear of reptiles and need to seek therapy (but probably not). Maybe they are not happy with you for other reasons; perhaps you first need to demonstrate that you can keep your room clean, before you deserve such a luxury. Whatever the situation is, discuss it with your parents and find out what you would have to do in order for them to be wiling for you to get a leopard gecko.
