No, I'm told they can get fungal infections under their scales, but it's never happened to my snake and I live in the troppics. Mind you my snake likes to hang in his branches rather than lie in the water. I think it only realy happens when your snake lies in water too much. Some people I know have to give their snake a very small water dish to stop this happening. I think snakes also like to bath in their water before shedding their skin.

What tank should you keep your snake in?

If you intend to keep a snake, then you should make the tank, vivarium or enclosure as large as possible. As a brief guide, always make sure your snake has enough space in his/her enclosure to be able to stretch out fully uncoiled. If your snake cannot be at full stretch inside the enclosure, then the enclosure is too small ! Also snakes like to climb, so giving them height as well as width will also make them happier. Hope this helps. Cornsnake Kid.

What should I do if I find tiny white bugs in my snake tank?

If you find tiny white bugs in your snake tank, it is important to take action promptly. These bugs could be mites, which can harm your snake. To address this issue, you should thoroughly clean and disinfect the tank, remove any bedding or substrate that may be infested, and treat your snake with a mite treatment recommended by a veterinarian specializing in reptiles. Regularly monitor the tank and your snake for any signs of reinfestation.

Can you keep 2 male baby corn snake in the same tank when their babies and when their adults?

Yes and No! If you have two snakes of the same size, and the same gender, it's OK. If you have a larger snake, it will eat or seriously stress the smaller snake. If you keep a male and a female together, make sure that they are at least 2-3 feet long, and relatively the same size.

Is it bad to move a snake from a 20 gallon tank to a 50 gallon then back to a 20 gallon again?

It might not be good to move a snake from a bigger tank to a smaller one. The snake will need room to move as it grows.

What do you need to keep a snake?

You need to be more specific, but you usually need a tank at least half the length of their body across. For the ground, aspen bedding or coconut fibres. To make the snake feel at home, put at least 2 to 3 caves in, and an appropriate sized water dish. Make sure whatever kind of heating lamp you get has no plastic parts what so ever, as the plastic will melt and it ends up being a real mess in the end. To spoil your snake, add some fake plants in the tank. To feed your snake, you must put him in a separate container than his tank, as if some aspen or coconut fibre gets stuck on his prey, and he swallows it, the snake could possibly die, so keep him in a separate container while feeding, and put some paper towel at the bottom of the feeding tank if you want. If you want more answers, be more specific on what kind of snake you have in mind. Hope this helped! :P
