If she becomes anxious, pacing, digging, etc, then, she may be looking for an appropriate nest.
You most likely will not be able to see the outline of any eggs until late stages into pregnancy. She wont have much of an appetite. Added: A female dragon will likely lay eggs even if they are not fertile. She will appear fatter though she will likely not be eating much. Make sure whatever you feed her is supplemented with calcium every day.... a little more than usual. You can make a laybox for her too. Just get a box with potting soil. Make sure the dirt is about 12 inches deep and you may need to show her it is there. She may or may not dig i it. Some will use it and some wont. One of my females laid about 35 eggs over a period of 3 weeks last season and refused her lay box. Another laid 40 eggs at one time, also not in her lay box. You have to be very aware though because they can become egg bound and this can be fatal.
No one really knows exactally why, they seem to change to black whenever they please, hot or cold night or day.
