Miniature turtle? That doesn't really tell us anything about the species...there is no such type of turtle as a "miniature turtle". Turtle species all have very unique needs. My advice is to find a reptile forum and ask your questions there, and perhaps include photos so that you may identify its species and care for it properly.
land turtle
what environment should i keep my IT turtle
A aquatic turtle because of it's special needs. A turtle is easier.
Of course you can take your turtle. Just take care in his packing.
It dosen't
Though many pet stores claim to have 'miniature turtles' while there is really no such thing. Most of the so called 'miniature' turtles are in fact baby sliders or cooters. Both of which can get to 10+ inches when fully grown. Sliders average size are: males- 7-9in; females- 8-12. And cooter females can get up to 16in. A good site to look at for care and other information on different turtle species and there captive care is Austins Turtle Page.

The answer is yes. Most living things take care of their babies . Others like a sea turtle don't.
