be nice to it
Yes though generally not as extremely as a male.
No, bearded dragons are not the same as frilled necked. Bearded dragons have a more wider beard as frilled neck dragons have a smaller frill around their neck.
If the neck of a bearded dragon's neck puffs up, it's mad or scared and the neck might also get black:)
They get Angry or protective it is basically a signal for predator to make them go away
They have small hairs on their chin (flot). Even though people say dragons are mystical, the Bible talks a lot about mystical creatures in revelation. Just thought I should say that>>>
The only part of bearded dragons that changes colour is the lower jaw and neck, hence the bearded part of the name. It goes black. As for variation in skin colour they come in everything from very pale yellow (citrus) through red (sandfire) to the almost giraffe like pattern of the leatherback.
That is their "beard" hence where their name comes from. It is one of the protections. Wild dogs, coyotes, wolves and dingos are their main enemy and all those animals go for the neck or throat to kill. When a beardie is attacked it can harden the beard and that protects the neck from danger
Bearded dragons exhibit typical reptilian mating behaviors. Males will display dominance by head bobbing and arm waving to attract females. During mating, the male will bite the female's neck to hold her in place. The female will then lay eggs, which the male may fertilize. Bearded dragons do not form long-term pair bonds and will mate with multiple partners.
Magpie
yes, beardies come in many colors and shapes. dont be worried. he may be a red sandfire bearded dragon.
If their hatchlings or juveniles, their strategy is to run like HECK. If they are adults, they will flatten out their bodies, lift their head and neck up s few inches with their front toes, gape their mouth, hiss, puff out their little "beard" and the males will turn them jet black. If you have a cat and a beardie, then this might happen when the cat is at the edge of the glass. This will send the beardie OVER THE EDGE!!!
Yes they do. I had two females and they would turn black. I have another female and letley they have reversed the mating rituals so She will head Bob and her beard will turn black and he will wave.
