There are many different species of snakes which are kept as pets, ranging from tiny thread snakes of only a couple inches in length on up to the reticulated python, the longest snake in the world, which may exceed 30 feet in length.

The most COMMON pet snakes are king, milk and garter snakes which may be between 3 and 6 feet when fully grown, depending on the species...corn snakes, which can grow 3 to 6 feet, ball pythons which grow to 4 to 6 feet feet, and boa constrictors, which grow up to 8 to 12 feet depending on the species and the locality it came from.

The popular Burmese python can grow up to 26 feet in length, and should NOT be kept by a novice. Giant snakes can be dangerous, even when tame, and must be treated with caution. Snakes under 8 feet in length are not considered to be dangerous.

Between 3 and 5 feet, as adults. Most are between 3.5 and 4 feet. Mine is an adult and approximately 3.5 feet. The females, like in most species of snakes, are usually a bit larger than the males.
