If your bearded dragon likes to hide or explore in places you don't want it to, then yes, but if they are perfectly fine without one and can stay content and easy to control there is no need to buy one.
No "why", only "what"! Question it on the web lorgh

A good choice for housing a bearded dragon in warmer climates is a Reptarium. They are made out of a mesh material and PVC for support. They usually have zippers on both ends for access. They typically run around $30.00.

I recently checked in my local pet store and it told me the bearded dragon itself was about 60 dollars. You would still have to buy the dragon's food and terrarium but, the beardie itself is about 60 dollars.
You can buy it in magic town in the dragon stand or you can actually buy a dragon from the dragon stand then when it hatches.... tickle them and a piece of dragon tears should pop. Adults can buy dragon tears but kids cant so your older sim should buy a dragon for your kid! =D NOTE: Be patient when tickling the dragon....
10-15 years is the 'norm' - BUT - there are exeptions.
You should buy Dragon Quest IX it's almost fully customizable and I don't think there is a level cap.
The average adult bearded dragon gets 18 inches long (1 1/2 feet) . There are different species of bearded dragon that can get up to 24 inches (2 feet). I have 5 adult dragons. The smallest is about 14 inches, the largest is about 22 inches. Ones that have some "German Giant" genes tend to get larger but you really can't tell until they are full grown. 18 inches is a good estimate but it could be 4 - 6 inches difference in either direction.
