Actually no animal killed Cleopatra. There is a myth that she died by snakebite, but that's all it is--a myth. All the ancient writers agree with this and they also state that she died by some type of poison. Scientists now have come up with the theory that her death was caused by a combination or "cocktail" of three poisons. So don't believe that story about Cleopatra being killed by an asp. It's just another false story about Cleopatra.

Cleopatra's crown was not a "crown" as we think of it. Her crown was a diadem, which in her time represented royalty. It was a triple uraeus or triple cobra -headed headband.

I believe it is called an asp. The asp was represented on the crown of all Pharaohs, Cleopatra included. However the crown itself was called a uraeus. It had at least one asp on it. Cleopatra's crown had three.
