Common misperception is that the United States isn't home to any crocs at all... The southern tip of Florida actually does have natural habitats of the American Crocodile. Their numbers currently range somewhere around 2,000 or so animals in all. In fact, Florida is the only place on earth where gators and crocs co-exist. As for diet, crocs eat rabbits, dogs, cats, and other smaller mammals. They may also eat deer, and have been known to attack humans (though no known American cases of croc-human attacks have been documented). In short, American Crocodiles are Apex predators that will eat what they find convenient, and are hunted by nothing other than humans.
