well frankly the only option for keeping a reptile is a bearded dragon originally from austrailia, these curious creatures love to be handled and can be fed dry food in pellet form, they are easy to look after and make great pets. they dont bite and when they are cross they puff up a beard, hence the name, but ask anyone they really are amazing and are easy to look after, love being handled and make a great pet. so i suggest a bearded dragon for a pet.
It would depend on the type of lizard.

A type of lizard to keep as a pet, and is harmless and not poisonous would be a Gecko. Geckos only require a clean tank, a small environmental simulation, plenty of water and plenty of food. Geckos make nice pets because they are small enough to manage and are also quite domestic looking.
