Medusa is one of the three Gorgon sisters in Greek mythology, along with her siblings Stheno and Euryale. Unlike her immortal sisters, Medusa is mortal and is often depicted with snakes for hair, capable of turning those who gaze upon her into stone. The Gorgons are children of the primordial sea deities Phorcys and Ceto. Additionally, Medusa has connections to various figures in mythology, including her offspring, the winged horse Pegasus and the giant Chrysaor, both born from her after being slain by the hero Perseus.
