Medusa was isolated on a island. The island had once been her home. She turned every one into stone. Medusa had once been a very beautiful woman. So beautiful that men had compared her to Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. Aphrodite heard these men and became jealous of Medusa. To get rid of her competition, Aphrodite changed the beautiful into a being so hideous that her gaze would turn a person to stone.
