Species ranging across arid areas tend to be insectivores. Their feces will look like a 1" long piece of dark wood. Looking closely we can see that in reality it is the exo skeletons of insects they've digested.
It may be a lizard as I have on occasion left my doors open. I found one in here but I am finding new feces.
As far as I know, lizard feces can stink up the whole house depending on how big the house is.

Woodchuck feces look similar to rat feces. It looks like large grains of dark rice. However, you will not likely see woodchuck feces on your property. Woodchucks have special chambers under the ground that they use as their bathroom.
