Nile Crocodiles are obligate carnivores. This means they only eat animal meat, bones, and organs to survive.

Niles eat anything they can catch and overpower- from Cape Buffalo and Wildebeests to Baboons and Impala.

They rip of pieces of flesh from their prey using the death-roll and swallow the pieces of flesh and bone whole.

All crocodiles, including Niles, eat small stones & rocks to help grind up these foods in their stomachs. The stones are used to grind the food into small bits to be easily digested in the intestines. The stones are worn down over time and when they get small enough, they are passed through the digestive tract and out of the vent in their scat. New stones are then swallowed to replace them.
