A geckos hideout is usually a damper area then the environment. They will typically hide out in fallen trees, under leaf debris, within a rocky crevice. Geckos, like all reptiles shed their skin every so often and to do so, they must have a "humid hide" or an area that is a little damp to assist with the shedding process.
