Answergood question, yes turtles are very inteligant, about three quarters of its head is its brain. Turtles will know there owners after only a month, it will even recognize its food if you hold it up to it.

...the person who answered above is not very intelligent since he/she could not even spell the word properly even though it is right there in the question and a spell checker is available. This same person does not even know the difference between "there" and "their". I don't know how intelligent turtles are, but most likely more intelligent than the person who gave the first part of the answer to the question...
