Probably the very common "Box turtle". These turtles usually spend their entire long life in an area about the size of 3 acres near where they were born. If you see one in the wild, please leave it there. They are very capable of taking care of themselves. If it is in the street, well then by all means, please move it out the street, but DO NOT take it home. It will not do well out of the wild, and will have eating/nutrition issues. Unfortunately all of this info comes from a bad experience when a co-worker tried to "rescue" one from a street near work. The little fellow did not do well.
