well that is a very hard question because you may NOT have a glass cage for any chameleon because of the reflection it could call death or fatal threats. Next they need two light one for heat and one for resting. Also they need a spray check so when they are hot spray very carefully with a bottle or mister, if it gets in eye call breeder or vet. Chameleons can not be house with others unless mating[if needed]. Chameleons eat waxworms waxmoths crickets mealworms kingmeal worms and others too, do not feed anything you find in the house because it could have a disease. they are very good climbers so you need lots of branches. Now the last they need a big cage or place to live in since natural climbers if you do not want a bit cage 100 gallon tank then if you wanted panther or veiled cross them off your list, not Jackson's and Hoennelli then those need one of the smallest 35 gallon 4x4x4. Now you know how picky they are. The best would probably be for beginner gecko or corn snake and bearded dragon they are not as picky

They all require a good amount of space, very specific heating and lighting, and a very attentive owner.

If you want something easy, get some guppies.

I would say the best beginner lizard is the Leopard Gecko. When you say easiest, I agree with Russ Case, you are saying "won't die if I neglect it." Leopard Geckos are tolerant of mistakes- to a point. Do all the research you can before buying the animal.

From my experience, corn snakes and royal pythons are quite easy to take care of as they are more beginner snakes.

It depends on your experience, I am currently in ownership of various pythons, boas and corn snakes, all of which I find very easy to care for.
