The anaconda species are not endangered, still quite common over it's range.

The Yellow Anaconda is an endangered species due to a shrinking habitat and over hunting. The Green Anaconda of South America is abundant in number, but they lack genetic diversity so it could be at risk. Animals can have abundant numbers, but still be endangered do to some sort of present or future change. Example. A plaque breaks out among people in the western portion of a peoples region. The region has an abundant population, but if the plague is not thwarted, it could encompass the entire region. Thus killing off the population. Species can become endangered for many reason. That includes humans and animals. In the case of the Yellow Anaconda, the numbers are decreasing faster than they are increasing.
