There's no reason you can't hold a red-eared slider, as long as you are careful. Red-eared sliders can sometimes carry salmonella, so you should always wash your hands after touching them. They can also get sick from germs that humans carry, so you should also wash your hands before touching them, too.

The other thing is that sometimes they bite, and it really hurts because once they've bitten you, they usually won't let go, so you have to pull your finger out. So be careful not to let your fingers get too close to its mouth.

What age should a baby hold its head up?

it can depend on the baby, my sis has a 2 month old baby girl, she seems so clever, shes been trying to hold her head up since she was about 3wks old! She may be able to do this but she cant support her head for too long, let him/her hold her head up themself if they can, just be ready to take the pressure of the baby when they cant hold their head up.

If a female red eared slider cant find a place to lay her eggs will she keep them inside and will hatchling's still be born?

She will hold them inside of her belly for up to two months after that you should take her to the vet they'll force her to squeeze out the eggs. If you is broke the mother will keep them inside until they crack and now you have a turtle with 20 broken eggs in her body!!!

Are you bellied slider turtles rare?

No, these turtles along with red ear sliders are the most common turtle you can get hold of. They are readily available in most reptile stores (well they seem to be the one they all sell). Other turtles such as map and musk turtles are much harder to get hold of, especially in the UK.

How much is a 50 gallon turtle tank?

It depends what type of turtle. My yellow bellied turtle (yellow bellied slider) in Scotland cost me £18, but that wasn't the tank, filter, water heater or heat lamp, (you may also need a UV lamp) that was just the turtle.
