Watch your red eared slider while they are feeding. Notice the way that their eyes focus on their food to the point where they are nearly cross-eyed? That is a signal when they are about to bite something. So when their eyes focus, that is when they are about to 'attack'.
Red Eared sliders are aggressive over food, territory mates, etc. Most likely it was due to that aggression. I would suggest separating the sliders and taking the injured slider a vet. Good Luck!
Yes, you can feed your red eared slider carrots. Jut make sure the pieces you are feeding them are small enough and soft enough to eat.
Yes, some birds can kill red-eared slider turtles, especially when the turtles are young or small. Predatory birds like herons, crows, and certain raptors may attack and eat turtles if they can easily access them. Adult red-eared sliders are generally larger and better able to defend themselves, but threats still exist from birds if they are vulnerable or in distress.
No, because a red-eared slider lives in ponds and lakes and garter snakes live in grassy fields. They also have different humidity requirements.
aquatic plants, fruit and insects.,red ear sliders eat fish but you half to make sure the fish are small you don't want them to big i have turtles of my own'Red eared sliders eat plants and animals. Ladybugs are not considered poisonous to Red-Eared Slider Turtles. While some ladybug species can secrete a substance that may be mildly toxic to small animals if ingested in large quantities, red-eared sliders generally avoid eating them due to their taste and odor. However, it's still best to monitor your turtle's diet and avoid feeding them anything outside their natural food sources.
Turtle pellets. When they are older you can give them crickets and veggies.
