As somebody that has work at McDonald's, No they don't microwave the burgers, but the way they cook them isn't much better what they do is place the patties on the grill and press a button which press the meat between 2 heated "Platens" after the set amount of time for that meat the "platens" lift and they take the now juice-less squished meat off the "grill"
