"Tea" time should normally only be used to describe the early evening meal on weekends. "Dinner" time should be used for the evening meal mid week.

Depends on where you live. Some people have breakfast , lunch , and dinner. Some have breakfast , dinner, and supper . Just go along with the prevailing custom, because if you want to throw in brunch, elevenses , tea etc, you can make yourself nuts.
Both can be used, people from the UK tend to use tea and Americans will tend to use dinner. It is merely personal preference, both are correct.
