I will just begin to answer this question. Some of the food typically thought of as Oregon foods are Dungeness crab, Salmon, Filberts (Hazlenuts) and Berries - especially Marionberries. Oregon also has many famous artisanal cheeses and also the more mainstream Tillamook Cheddar cheese. Beer is huge and there are more breweries per-capita in both Oregon and Oregon's largest city, Portland. A common nickname for Portland is "Beervana." Oregon is also famous for its wine - especially Pinots. Many of the foods that Oregon is famous for are very abundant, but many of them are also famous because they are better in Oregon. For example the climate allows the growth of much sweeter berries. Oregon Strawberries are so much sweeter than say Strawberries from California, but because of the sugar content they have a VERY short shelf life (maybe a couple of days after being picked) and so not many outside Oregon get to experience them. Coffee is also big, but it seems to have caught on most places in the last 25 years. Maybe not to the extent that it has in the NW, but is certainly ubiquitous There are also many foods that are popular in Oregon that are not from Oregon. You here a lot of comments in Portland like "Oh no! An entire intersection without a Thai place OR a Pho place on any of the corners." And, many visitors comment no the abundance of Asian restaurants and maybe Portlanders like Thai food and Pho more than other city's residents, but Thai food and Pho are certainly not unique to Oregon. Oregon is one of the best places in the country to grow food, so locally grown organic food is what is most popular, and since most things grow extremely well in Oregon, that leaves a pretty broad range of food.
