Snails are an entrée thus served with no side dish.
In very rare cases, French restaurants might offer snails as a main course but even then, snails are served alone.
Snail Orgy!
Snails, yumm thank you my English is not good
There are beneficial snails and problem snails. Good snails would be welcomed in a pond setting as they would help control algae growth. Problematic snails over populate their habitats.
Our nails are stuck together so that they don't fall off of course. If they were even just on a little bit, water would get in and you would be in big pain from infection of of raw skin.
You would be very close to overstocked. I personally would get rid of the snails.

The simple answer: a lot. Reuters reported that the French eat about 30,000 metric tons of escargot yearly. The French Embassy in the United States tweeted that approximately 500 million snails are consumed every year in France.
snails are bugs. not animals. figure it out. think a little bit would ya!?
Ancient Romans would have elaborate feasts where men were served while reclining on couches. They would eat pheasant, songbirds, rabbit, venison, pork, and seafood. Wine would be served with the food. A rich host would show off by serving the rarest of food. Dormouse was a favorite. But some hosts went all out and fed oddities like milk fed snails and peacock tongue.
I would not recommend adding snails to any tank if you intend to have fish.
I would say it is a herbivore, because they would probably eat the algae in the pond, but some might be carnivores or omnivores, so your best bet is to just look online.
According to the Larousse Gastronomique, snails have been popular since Roman times. Since France once was part of the Roman Empire, it may well be that the custom started then. What's more, the most common kind of snail eaten used to be that on vines, so it would have been readily available in wine country. Alan Davidson says they were included in the Menagier de Paris, a famous 14e c. cookbook, but had their ups and downs over the centuries in terms of popularity. ........................................ Snails is a traditional meal came from Roman empire, French cuisine is famous but there are a lot of countries where snail is a traditional meal and they eat it more than in France: some regions in Spain, Italy, Greece, England, Asia (they put snails in the soup), Africa (there are giant snails). Contrary to what one might think most of people don't eat snails in France. ...............................................
