Broken drive belt(s). Fairly inexpensive to replace.
Weight. Try adding one or two weights to the hose, one just above the cleaner and about 3ft up. Will help keep the hose from floating the cleaner. Can get most pool stores, or online. Looks like big blue ring. Fits over hoses at the section links.
In a right turn, the rear wheels will track inside the path of the front wheels.
turn wheels to curb
Some suction side pool cleaners will "hover" because sometimes air gets entrapped in the shell especially if it was taken out of the water for some reason and then returned to the pool. Bring the cleaner to near the surface of the water and near the edge of the pool deck. Reach down and gently tilt and sway the cleaner head from side to side. You may have to practically turn it upside down in order to remove the air bubble. Once that is done release the unit to see if the condition continues. k
i have one of the 2002 models. it is stamped in the frame on the left hand side. Turn the wheels to the right and look at the angle in the frame it is stamped near the top of the frame

Here are the possible problems. 1. Is the backup valve stuck in backup? 2. Is the pressure correct? Wheels turn 28-32 RPM. 3. Is there air in the filtration system? 4. Are the hose floats in the proper placement? OR Air entrapment within the housing. Tilt the unit back and forth while holding it under water - - - watch for air bubbles then let it go.

Aircraft are able to turn left to right, vice versa or around by controlling the spin of the wheels. Preventing the right wheels to roll will turn the aircraft to right and controlling the left wheels will make a left turn.
When you turn the front wheels, they skid sideways as they turn. The skidding wears rubber off the tire.
