You will know you're a self harmer because you either actually hurt yourself on purpose to relieve stress or everytime you go near a knife or do something wrong in your life you will want to hurt yourself. I myself am not a self harmer, however, I get those feelings when you want to hurt yourself, to know what it feels like. If you really feel you need to hurt yourself, go and speak to somebody let your stress and emotions out in a way that doesn't hurt yourself. Many people have said it is addictive hurting yourself and that you should never do it, which I agree with, however it's your life and do what you want, but just remember that it won't solve your problems.
