What is sublimanation?

Sublimation is the process where a substance transitions from a solid to a gas without passing through the liquid phase. This means that the solid basically turns into gas without melting first. Examples of substances that undergo sublimation include dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) and mothballs (paradichlorobenzene).
